Fabric Baskets

Also got a couple of fabric baskets made. It is sort of hard to see, but I glued holly buttons to the base of the handle pieces on the basket on the right. They would make fun holders for Christmas cards next year. Tutorials found on blogs as follows: pieced basket www.ayumills.blogspot.com non pieced basket www.orangeflowerpatterns.blogspot.com/2008/08/fabric-basket
enjoy!

Aprons

A couple of aprons I made with all the extra time I have being on Winter Break from work. These are made from a fat quarter of fabric for the apron part and 1/2 yard of fabric for the trim/waistband/ties. It was a tutorial I found on the Stop Staring and Start Sewing blog( found at: http://www.johag.typepad.com/)

Cars and Girls

First two photos are Susie and her baby(Honda Prelude). She loves to drive! The car is a 5 speed, teaching her to drive a stick shift was something else, once she got the hang of it there was no holding her back. She says she will never own an automatic-we'll see

Then Annie and her Honda Accord. She was a slow starter with being ready to drive, but now relishes the freedom owing a car gives her. Before she drove, she was an expert bus rider and recently decided not to drive in the snow and took the bus to work-hated every minute of it, but her car was safe at home!

Snow, the other furbaby, purse

First photo gives a good idea of how much snow we got in the Winter 08 Storm. The second photo is the other furbaby, Mr. Oliver-not as friendly as Miss Ruby. Below is one of the many purses/bags I have made. I was trying to get away from the pastel florals I like to use.

Okay, blogging world, here I come

I decided it was time move out of the dark ages and into the light of the blogging world. I hope it won't be too much of a learning curve. Expect snippets of my life as a wife, mother, crafter, lunch lady, church member, friend. Hopefully with photos thrown in to make it less boring.

So guess I will leap in here. Christmas day was quiet for us-snow in the morning( I am so tired of the snow, it is more than I imagined could ever accumulate here and it is going to be days before it is all melted and I can get the car up our street/driveway) We picked up our movie on Christmas day tradition that we had started some years ago and had gone by the wayside when we had Christmas dinner invitations. We saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I enjoyed it and I think the rest of the family did too. I try to not put too much weight of my movie viewing decision on Movie Reviewers and try to select a movie based on its appeal to me.

A couple of photos, learning how to put pics on the blog:
